The National Employment Savings Trust is a scheme introduced by the government to assist workers that do not have a pension plan at their workplace. The auto enrolment employees program is part of this NEST scheme and will require all workers and their employers to begin paying into the scheme starting in October 2012. The money that this scheme produces will help meet the financial needs of a worker however it may not be enough. The government has recommended that all workers in this scheme reach out to licensed financial planner. These planners will be able to help a person determine how much they will need to retire and how they can meet that goal. If an individual does not have access to a financial planner they could ask the head of their human resources department for a recommendation of someone to work with. It is vital that these planners are licensed by the Financial Services Authority.
